An Ancient Tale Told in 3D

Photo_01 The new movie "Beowulf" to be released at the end of the year is gathering much anticipation as the trailer and snapshots from the movie surface. Leading the cast of this epic action adventure is Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, John Malkovich and Angelina Jolie, just to name a few.

Photo_02 Sporting a very unique visual atmospher, Beowulf is a completely 3D computer generated (CG) movie. If you have a look at the trailer, the characters look extremly photo-realistic (in fact it had me fooled into believing it was a live action movie!). Reasons why Beowulf is kept CG is threefold:

1) to realistically transition the main character through 50 years of his life throughout the movie,

2) for the crew to have creative freedom and

3) so the movie can be seen in 3D (IMAX or Real D)

This looks set to be a hugely entertaining experience - especially in 3D!
