Gogofrog in State of Play

The 21st August marked the beginning of "State of Play", a conference on virtual worlds held in Singapore. The conference brings together experts around the world to discuss the future of cyberspace and how it affects us on all different levels.

Gogofrog formed part of the 2nd day of State of Play, alongside mentions of Second Life, There.com and HiPiHi (Chinese version of Second Life and There). Click here to find out more details.

An Ancient Tale Told in 3D

The new movie "Beowulf" to be released at the end of the year is gathering much anticipation as the trailer and snapshots from the movie surface. Leading the cast of this epic action adventure is Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, John Malkovich and Angelina Jolie, just to name a few.

Sporting a very unique visual atmospher, Beowulf is a completely 3D computer generated (CG) movie. If you have a look at the trailer, the characters look extremly photo-realistic (in fact it had me fooled into believing it was a live action movie!). Reasons why Beowulf is kept CG is threefold:

1) to realistically transition the main character through 50 years of his life throughout the movie,

2) for the crew to have creative freedom and

3) so the movie can be seen in 3D (IMAX or Real D)

This looks set to be a hugely entertaining experience - especially in 3D!
