Explore Cool Science Projects in 3D!

When I was having a browse through some of the many cool Gogofrog sites that people have made, I stumbled onto this interesting, thought-provoking site called Cool Science Projects.

Cool Science Projects point you to some exciting projects you can undertake to get you thinking and get your hands dirty! They range from really easy-to-do ones like manipulating the colour of a rose, to some more advanced ones like mathematically driven pulley and lever systems. It's also explained why the results are so - food for the brain! Be sure to check it out!

How a Black Hole works in 3D

A black hole possesses so much gravity that everything would get sucked in - comets, stars, astronauts, even light. Whatever gets  sucked into a black hole gets "infinitely crushed" and it is where "space and time become infinitely distorted". Great! Now wanna see one? This link takes you to a 3D view of a black hole in action! (Well, without the sucking and infinitely crushing everything part...) You can pan around and rotate to see the myserious black hole from all angles! And the PlanetQuest gallery contains a few more nifty 3D simluated planets and other space stuff.

These require a small 3D plugin that needs to be downloaded. But if you like to see how things work in 3D, then download it! It's fast and well worth it!

What a difference a hundred years makes

Here's a clever idea. Low-tech but with a hi-tech twist. With an antique stereoscope, a digital camera, and a couple of iPod photos, you can play like great grandma and check out some great stereoscopic modernica. Hook it up to a dual projector stereoscopic projection system, press play on the iPod soundtrack, and treat your friends and neighbors to a makeshift 3D multimedia presentation.
